ChemImage CONDOR Hyperspectral Imaging System

This accurate forensic-imaging instrument from ChemImage promises to help law enforcement and forensic scientists increase their ability to solve crimes—especially when blood spatter, latent prints, and questioned documents are involved. ChemImage’s CONDOR Hyperspectral Imaging System creates high spatial- and spectral-resolution images. The imaging also allows users the capability to detect alterations and forgeries related to inks and bank notes, security paper, colored printings, and travel documents. The results are easy for non-scientists to interpret, making for clear courtroom presentations.

BriefCam video synopsis

Summarize surveillance video, even a full day’s worth, into as little as a few minutes—enabling the rapid review and indexing of captured video. BriefCam’s video synopsis provides a summarized video clip of the original full-length video footage. The synopsis is made possible by concurrently presenting multiple objects and activities that have occurred at different times. Clicking on any individual object or event in the clip invokes the original unabridged video for targeted review. The technology allows for rapid review of reported incidents or discovery of previously unknown events.’s DC LIVE/Forensics 7.5 Audio Laboratory

If you deal with audio analysis then you might be interested in taking a look at’s DC LIVE/Forensics 7.5 Audio Laboratory. The solution provides law-enforcement professionals with a noise-reduction analysis and audio-enhancement toolkit. One feature, EZ Forensics, is a new tool that takes into account that not all users of the product are forensics experts. This easy-to-follow wizard asks questions like, “Are there single or multiple talkers?” or “Is there background noise?” After filling in the blanks, the computer will provide four different “answers” to that particular forensic problem. Other features include an updated Adaptive filter and a new scrolling display.

Artel PCS Pipette Calibration System

DNA analysis using qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction) technology is increasingly common in modern laboratories. This technology is also highly volume-dependent and requires several liquid-volume steps. The Artel PCS Pipette Calibration System is suited for the calibration of pipettes used for qPCR applications due to its ability to rapidly measure small liquid volumes with high accuracy. The PCS is small enough to be used bench-top to help labs improve the quality of their qPCR assay results.

Videx, Inc. Mini Keyport & WebStation

The access-control product offerings from Videx, Inc. recently grew to include two new devices: the Mini Keyport and the WebStation, used to pass information between the software and keys.
