Upcoming Conference: Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction

The 2017 conference for the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction (ACSR) is set in Black Hawk Colorado at the Ameristar Hotel. The conference, to be held February 7-9, 2017, covers subjects ranging from Bloodstain pattern analysis and shooting incident reconstruction, to clandestine grave investigations and accident reconstruction. Experts from around the world attend this informative gathering. Other subjects discussed include complex crime scene investigations, officer-involved shooting incidents, and the Aurora, Colorado Theater Shooting Investigation.

Digital-Image Management at Mass Gravesites

SKELETONIZED REMAINS that were carefully unearthed from the desert sands of Iraq tell their own story: the bones of an adult, still dressed in a woman’s apparel, lie supine. The skull is perforated by a bullet hole. Tucked in the space between the ribs and the left humerus is a much smaller skeleton, bones in the skull un-fused, and the fully clothed body partially swaddled in a blanket.
