Trauma Informed Interviewing and Investigations

December 31, 2019 — EVAWI (End Violence Against Women International) recently announced a new training bulletin series exploring the benefits and limits of using advances in neuroscience to help with the way interviews are conducted with victims of traumatic events.

The first in this series, "Becoming Trauma-Informed: Learning and Appropriately Applying the Neurobiology of Trauma to Victim Interviews," looks at why traditional interviewing techniques don't work with trauma victims, and introduces the concept of "Trauma-informed" interviewing approaches.
