Date Set for High-Technology Crime Conference

The 2012 HTCIA International Conference & Training Expo will be held September 16-19 at the Hershey Lodge in Hersey, Pennsylvania.

The HTCIA conference is the premier event for those in law enforcement or private industry who investigate high technology crime. The conference presents an opportunity to re‐connect with colleagues, network with peers, exchange best practices, and preview technology and services from providers in the industry. The event affords a unique mix of relevant content and opportunities for in‐depth networking. You will learn from subject matter experts and business leaders from both public and private sectors, who have the information you need to do your job. Over 16 lab and lecture sessions per day will be offered to support you in all aspects of your job; not only the job you are doing today, but the new jobs you may be asked to do tomorrow.

Approximately 500 are expected to attend, with 45 industry vendors and suppliers on hand demonstrating the latest technology.

Forensic Podiatry (Part Two of Two)

THE DISCIPLINE of forensic podiatry—or, in other words, the examination of pedal evidence—has progressed significantly over the past ten years. It is no longer a question of “What can you do with a footprint?” but rather, “Who can we use to evaluate the footprint?” Cases involving pedal evidence, especially bloody footprints and issues of determining shoe sizing or fit issues compared to questioned footwear, have become more common over the past two or three years.
