From Tuesday, April 18 2017
To Thursday, April 20 2017
Every day

Sponsor: Hooke College of Applied Sciences

Description: This sample preparation techniques course focuses on isolating, mounting, and handling 1-100 µm sized particles without the use of micromanipulators. Sample preparation techniques for isolating contaminants from liquids, solids, or surfaces are covered. Sample preparation methods for further analysis by PLM, IR, Raman, and SEM are demonstrated and discussed. Students spend more than 50% of class time practicing these techniques under the supervision of the instructor. Some of the sample-handling supplies made in class are retained by the students for their own use.
