eLearning for CPE Credits in DFIR at PFIC 2020

With all of the changes in the world, figuring out how to keep certification and skills up to speed has been more difficult. Paraben Corporation, the primary sponsor and host of PFIC, took that problem and addressed it quickly with a new virtual platform for PFIC 2020.

This two-day event will now be hosted in a live and recorded broadcast delivery platform called the PFIC Portal. The Portal will allow attendees to join sessions, chat with one another, and even have an evening social — all while staying safe and healthy in their own environments.

“We have always focused on innovation at PFIC and wanted to approach the current global situation the same way. While offering an easy-to-use platform that does not require anything more than a browser, we are able to share DFIR topics with anyone anywhere in the world,” commented Shannon Gomez, PFIC Team Lead.

PFIC has a strong agenda filled with industry experts that you can either see as live sessions, or you have three months to review the recorded sessions.

Here are some of the highlights and speakers:

  • Deepfake Forensic Investigations with Chet Hosmer
  • #OSINT:Knowledge is power with Stephen Ramey
  • Cloud Breach Forensics with Mike Raggo
  • Smartphone Data Nuggets with Amber Schroader
  • In a work at home world, how is your evidence changing? With Michael Zinn
  • ...And so many more that can be found at: https://pfic-conference.com/

The PFIC event runs September 22-23, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Attendees get a lot of options for the $99 fee for the event, to include a discount on the 2021 in-person and virtual event that is already slotted. In a world of shifting changes, PFIC has come to the top with a great agenda, innovative approach, and the fun style it has always been known for.

Digital-Image Management at Mass Gravesites

SKELETONIZED REMAINS that were carefully unearthed from the desert sands of Iraq tell their own story: the bones of an adult, still dressed in a woman’s apparel, lie supine. The skull is perforated by a bullet hole. Tucked in the space between the ribs and the left humerus is a much smaller skeleton, bones in the skull un-fused, and the fully clothed body partially swaddled in a blanket.
