New Virtual Training Guidelines Announced

December 15, 2020 — The International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) announced new policy and guidelines for providers developing training programs during the COVID-19 era using "virtual" means.

The protocol was established for National Certification Program (NCP) certified, in-person training program providers seeking approval for virtual, live, online delivery.

In the announcement, IADLEST spells out the difference between various types of virtual learning—such as asynchronous learning, distance learning, and blended learning—and provides a procedure for applying for certification of training.

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis

Most forensic disciplines attempt to determine the “who” of a crime. But bloodstain pattern analysis focuses on the “what happened” part of a crime. This book is the third edition of Blood-stain Pattern Analysis. The authors explore the topic in depth, explaining what it is, how it is used, and the practical methodologies that are employed to achieve defensible results. It offers practical, common-sense advice and tips for both novices and professionals.
